This 6V German Bosch coil has been professionally refurbished in our workshop and tested for conformity to factory specifications.

It measures the requisite resistance levels, sparks correctly, and is complete with a repainted, sealed, and freshly-revived bracket L91 silver.

The original coil from 1966 is still in my ALL original my bus-that I resurrected after 30 years in the old family farm barn. I bought this simply as a backup as the NOS 6v electrical is getting harder to find

Hello!

I have the original 6 volt coil from my 1957 VW sedan, with the original engine to the car.

I believe the coil is defective, as when I replaced it with a later version of the original 6 volt coil, the engine ran great, and continues to do so.

It is the earlier version of the 36 HP coil, which has a longer body when compared to the later 6 volt coils as used on the 40 HP engines. I can get the Bosch part number for it for you, if this will help.

Can you rebuild this earlier coil as well?

Thanks for asking! Yes, this coil can be restored, provided the internal resistance readings match factory specifications. Please note that the early 'star coils' cannot be opened, so they must have good readings to be eligible for restoration.
