Eric is as fussy a guy as you will ever meet! My 56 VW that my good friend Ron bought new and would never sell until his passing recently , won first place at its first car show, and promptly quit running while leaving the show due to a bad fuel pump. Eric came highly recommended, shipped the pump to him and explained there was no hurry. He didn’t hear that part it seems as I had it back about a week later.
It now runs perfectly and couldn’t ask for better service at a very reasonable price!

My car is a 1957 VW Sedan, with 13,770 original miles on her as of this writing. I have owned the car since 1978, and I am the second owner. It is a true survivor in every sense of the word. Original factory paint, etc.

As you can probably imagine, I am very, very particular about maintaining the originality and authenticity of this car, and who does any kind of service on it.

That said, the fuel pump on my car had never been touched since the day she left Wolfsburg in May of 1957, and I assumed the pump was long overdue for a rebuild, particularly replacement of the original diaphragm. Ethanol-based fuel, which I had been using with the car for years, could not have been kind to it.

Getting the pump rebuilt was something I had been putting off for years, until I found out about Eric and Air-Cooled Artifacts.

I sent Eric an email explaining my situation, and he immediately responded.

I explained that I wanted to completely preserve the original factory appearance and finish on my fuel pump, which he readily agreed would not be an issue. He also explained what was involved in rebuilding my pump, and that the correct preload of the new diaphragm would be held to the factory specification.

I sent my irreplaceable fuel pump to Eric, and upon it's arrival, photos immediately followed, showing the actual rebuild process. Numerous emails from Eric also followed, detailing the status of the rebuild; when it was completed; and the tracking number for the return shipment.

I received the rebuilt pump 1-1/2 weeks after sending it to Eric! Incredibly fast service!

The rebuilt pump is now back on the engine, and the car continues to run great, but with much greater reliability, as I no longer have to wonder about the condition of the nearly 70-year old diaphragm or any of the other parts within the pump.

I'm not one to easily give high praise for this kind of rebuilding service, but I'll make an exception here. I'd recommend Eric to anyone with a vintage VW, who needs to either purchase a replacement part or obtain the services offered from his company.

Eric was amazing right from the start. First he helped me find the seatbelts that I needed and wasn’t able to find on my own and then he picked them up and restored them for me.Great communication, great updates and great pictures. I would not hesitate to use his service again and I recommend him to anyone that needs seatbelt restoration.

I’ve had ACA restore fuel pumps for my 66 bus and a 63 bug. And he is currently restoring one for another 63 bug. As well as a coil for each one of these cars. The quality and attention to detail Eric gives these pumps and coils is amazing. I have had no issues with any of the products I’ve gotten from ACA. I will continue to get my pumps and coils from ACA for that properly restored look and function I require for my cars .

I'm a new bug owner and placed my first order with Lane Russell two weeks ago. There were quite a few different items on my order and when placing it I ordered a few things incorrectly. Of course I realized after I'd already submitted the order, so I emailed Eric to ask if they could correct it for me.
